Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a Fort Collins man was found in a Kansas field last week.
On October 1, around 10 pm a farmer from southwest Kansas contacted local police after discovering a body in a field on his property. The victim was later identified as Bayron Diaz-Bautista, 21 years old and a resident of Fort Collins Colorado.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation reported that the autopsy revealed that Díaz-Bautista died of gunshot wounds. The young man’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
On Saturday morning, Emilio Nunez-Bahena, 26, Veronica Nunez, 24, and Emilio Nunez Torres, 45, were arrested in Fort Collins on suspicion of murder in the first degree, for the death of Díaz-Bautista.
MelissaUnderwood, a spokeswoman for the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, said the three suspects knew Diaz-Bautista and lived in Fort Collins, where they were arrested.
Court records of Colorado do not show criminal record for any of the three suspects. The three were held in the Larimer County jail in Colorado without bail, and are expected to be extradited to Kansas.
